He died on the morning of Monday the 3rd of Jumādā ath-Thāniya in the year 1120. The city was devastated by his death. He was buried outside the Bāb Futūḥ gate in Fes, and a pleasant tomb was built over his grave. The building over his tomb was reconstructed in the year 1067 AH, by the jurist al-ʿAllama Sidi aṣ-Ṣaghīr b. al-Qāḍī with some money he inherited, as is noted in An-Nashr. It was then rebuilt again by the noble eminent Sultan Mawlānā al-Ḥasan b. Mawlānā Muḥammad al-ʿAlawī, may Allah be kind to him. His tomb is the one beside Sidi ʿAlī Ḥamāmūsh, to the right of one facing it from the path that leads up there. (Kuhin)
