Virtues of Maoulay Mawlāy ‘Abdus-Salām Ibn Mashīsh
Lights of a Quṭb with great power appeared to us
From the side of Mount Salam, where he dwellings
Like the sun, shining in the hearts
Removing the darkness of others
He is like a star who took the direction of the high heavens
He is a high mountain that got on top of all peaks
He is a Gnostic, a learned and famous man
He is a spring of adab and wisdom

5. An ascetic, a true worshipper, cautious
[Establishing prayer at night without sleeping] He’s a Sharīf (Idrīsī) from a pure garden
Pride and glory come to him, running on their feet
The master of Imām Abul-Ḥasan Al-Shādhilī,
Abdus-Salām – became a famous name by him
And fragrant in every county
Spread amongst Arabs and non-Arabs
He is our great grandfather
The Quṭb of our ṭarīq picked up the best qualities from him

10. He is a stronghold for anyone who comes with hopes in him
He’s a security from transgression and wrath
An unlimited ocean cannot know it’s borders
He never turned away from the door that leads to Allāh, The Lord of the Throne
He was annihilated to the dunyā and all of its ornaments
Till he became existent in this world but like non-existent
He does not claim any state
He never turned to other than his Master, Allāh Subḥānahū wa-ta’ālā
His prayer is pure and from the sublime world

15. Our souls have fallen in love with Mawlāy Abdus Salām ibn-Mashīsh
Swaying in rapture turning to him
