فخر الدين الزيلعي أبو عمرو عثمان بن علي بن محجن البارعي، فخر الدين الزيلعي الحنفي (؟؟؟ – 743هـ = ؟؟؟ – 1343م) عثمان بن علي بن محجن البارعي، فخر الدين الزيلعي، فقيه حنفي (شارح الكنز) أصله من زيلع. قدم القاهرة سنة 705 هـ فأفتى ودرس، ونشر الفقه، وانتفع به الناس، وتوفي فيها ودفن بالقرافة. له «تبيين الحقائق في شرح كنز الدقائق» وهو كتاب مطبوع في ست مجلدات في فقه، و«تركة الكلام على أحاديث الأحكام» و«شرح الجامع الكبير» فقه، وهو غير جمال الدين الزيلعي «عبد الله» صاحب «نصب الراية»

Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Zayla’i wrote several books on Islamic jurisprudence, among them Tabayin al-Haqa’iq li Sharh Kanz al-Daqa’iq, a 4 volumes work that is considered to be the single most authoritative text on the Hanafi school. In it he narrated the saying of Abu Hanifah that the Qiblah of the people of the East is West and the Qiblah of the people of the West is East and the Qiblah of the people of the North is South and the Qiblah of the people of the South is North.
